The Bean!

At long last, in spite of a super hot and dry summer, the hyacinth bean seeds JD sent me have grown into flowers. Whoo!

If you read the post on my other blog about the day where we went to the wineries, ate veal, and listened to Clutch's hit song "Big News 1" with some relatives and friends. The pic below is of a gas station in America.



Not just any gas station, it's Gas of America. On that stretch of highway, there are several America-themed gas stations.

A decade or so ago, my friend Joel made a drawing that looked very much like this scene. On the way out of the tunnel on this hike, I felt like I was walking through his artwork.
